our big shish.

our ruby nicole jones is five. five is old, mature, independent. i feel like she is no longer a baby, she is a big girl. the last year as she's grown into this five year old angel girl with two missing teeth. but what a ride it has been to watch her grow.

for her birthday we ended up being in florida, which was such a dream. nicholas job had him out in fll for about ten days and that meant he had to haul us out there with him. we are so thankful for his job and it worked out perfectly since there aren't many things ruby loves more than sun and swimming.

as a special treat and because of the big meeting nic actually came to florida both fell on ruby's birthday he woke her up around 5:30 to eat breakfast and watch the sunrise. she was very confused since it was dark outside, but was really excited for the adventure. daddy took her down and she ate her favorite chocolate chip waffles with whipped cream. they then headed out to the beach and spent about four minutes watching the sunset. then the two of them slipped on their goggled and hopped into the ocean. for almost three hours. the boys and mom woke up and met them down at the pool.

we swam for quite a while and then we headed upstairs to get ready to go to lunch. one other perk of being in florida was ruby got to eat chic-fil-a! her very favorite non-vegas food! it turns out ruby likes the food a lot but the reason she loves chic is for the play place. after lunch we went back for naps, and ice cream. dad left for the evening and we rested until we went down to the pool again. ruby swam for almost seven hours on her birthday. she enjoyed phone calls from all of her loved ones. and got the best present ever, an evie costume!

oh big sis. we love you. we love you. it's hard to talk about the depth of my love for ruby girl. she is the most beautiful person inside and out. that is mostly evident in how purely she loves her brothers and us as her parents. she is so cuddly and gives hugs and kisses so freely. we are lucky enough to watch her come into her own, especially lately. it's been sad to see that da pink da pink da pink is not her favorite color anymore and minnie and princesses aren't her only obsession. but at the same time listening to her sound out words, shower and blow dry her hair, and help make meals every day all by herself make me really appreciate her growth and development.

it has been a shame that ruby missed the deadline by about two weeks she feels a little bored during the days. but preschool and speech has helped her to feel busy. when she isn't out and about she is at home being her creative self. ruby loves to color and do projects. our kitchen island is almost always full of her stuff. but i wouldn't have it any other way. ruby is a big tv head and it's a bit of a problem because we could literally watch tv for hours on end and never get bored. she will watch just about everything and wishes we let her watch more.

the highlight to me of ruby is how great of a helper she is. often times we ask a lot of her. i just noticed this morning how she put the bath toys away, i had asked her to, but it just made my life complete. she always is helping with her brothers. one of my favorite sounds is the kids giggling or growling and chasing each other around. it's genuinely a dream.

we are full of ruby stories and we laugh and laugh at her all day long. ruby has a great memory and sings songs all day long. she is genuinely obsessed with grama scooby and talks about her on the daily. she does suggest we live in utah or gram and grampa move down the street all the time. it's so neat to hear their special bond.

the other things ruby loves right now are; descendents, frozen, sunday family movie day, dolls, popcorn, sharing a diet coke, sugar pretzels, disneyland, splash mountain especially, girls days, dates with dad, staying up late, reading story books, playing dress up, friends, and hotel rooms.

ruby nicole. we love you. thank you for being so unique, and so incredible.
